From spiked eggnog to mulled wine to a hot buttered rum, as Christmas comes around the drinks start pouring. For those looking to get into some festive fun with a seasonal cocktail can check out some of these Columbus-area bars that are embracing that yuletide feeling.
BrewDog Franklinton
While all BrewDog Columbus locations are celebrating the holidays with the Holiday Hop Passport, the Franklinton location in particular is a beer lover’s Christmas destination. The passport encourages drinkers to try all 10 of the seasonal beers like Jingle Bell Java and Falalalalager for an exclusive beanie and ornament. However, the Franklinton location has become the so-called “Christmas Bar,” where guests can enjoy some seasonal cocktails amongst trees and lights.

Oak & Brazen
Out in Delaware, Oak & Brazen offers California and Washington state grapes crafted using an old-world style. For Christmas, the winery is offering a selection of Christmas beverages, seasonal sangria and boozy hot chocolate. Even more unique is the hot chocolate flights, allowing guests to choose four hot cocos to sample. In addition to the drinks, Oak & Brazen is hosting several holiday events like Christmas movie trivia and brunch with Santa throughout the month.

XMAS Bar
The XMAS Bar at Good Night John Boy in Short North is a popup bar offering original Christmas-themed cocktails and festive takes on classics. For those looking to get a bit crazier this holiday season, the bar also offers a selection of Christmas shots. Sexton’s Pizza, a staple of Good Night John Boy, is also offering a special Christmas pizza to snack on with your drinks.

Miracle at Citizens Trust
Running through Dec. 28 is the Miracle popup bar at The Citizens Trust. Featuring ornate decorations, including a large igloo in which guests can drink under, Miracle is one of the grander holiday offerings in the city. Excitingly, its holiday cocktail menu comes served in unique glasses, including a Santa T-Rex, adding to the specialness of this limited-time popup bar.

Land-Grant Brewing
A staple of the Columbus brewery scene, Land-Grant is consistently ranked among the best taprooms in the area. For the new season, Land Grant has transformed its beer garden into “Winter Garden.” Featuring heated igloos, guests can stay cozy while dining al-fresco. To keep the fun going, the brewery is offering curling and ice bumper cars. Those interested in curling particularly can join the curling leagues for January and February.
