As the temperatures begin to drop, many will be looking for entertainment indoors. The Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA) offers residents of the area entertainment of various types, from concerts to Broadway-caliber musicals to celebrity interviews.
Kicking off October is the cult classic “The Rocky Horror Show” at the Garden Theater’s Short North Stage. Complete with a dance-along and prop bags for sale, the production is returning for its 7th autumn run (Oct. 3-Nov. 2). Likewise, the musical “Jersey Boys,” detailing the story of the band the Four Seasons, will close out the season for that stage (Nov. 21-Dec. 29).
Over at the Palace Theater, musicians like Amy Grant (Oct. 19) and The Piano Guys (Nov. 13) will take the stage. Families can come out for events that highlight childhood classics like Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert (Oct. 24) or Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse: Live in Concert (Nov. 6). Lastly, the Palace Theater will be celebrating the holidays with exciting takes on festive performances like “The Hip Hop Nutcracker” (Nov. 24) and “A Drag Queen Christmas” (Nov. 27).
The Lincoln Theatre will focus on several speakers and comedians. There will be a screening of Luke Willis’ documentary “Lady Like,” which features drag queen Lady Camden and is narrated by Nina West, followed by a Q&A (Oct. 9), while award-winning photographer Lynn Goldsmith will be there for a meet and greet and book signing (Oct. 10). Dance will shine through with events like the Ebony Nutcracker (Dec. 13-15) and Wonderment (Dec. 5-6).
A full list of events can be found on CAPA’s website.
