The Insect Festival will have a variety of bug-themed entertainment and movies

Join Studio 35 Cinema and Ohio State University’s Entomology Department as they come together to create their Insect Film Fest. The festival will be showing two free movies on Sunday, November 2, 2025. The first movie will be a G-rated feature, “James and the Giant Peach” starting at 1:15 p.m. Afterward, the festival will show the movie “Mimic” at 4:15 p.m. for mature audiences.
Additionally, the Insect Festival will have a variety of bug-themed entertainment between movies. Festival goers will be able to tour Ohio State University’s BUGmobile, a moving bug zoo, as well as other insect-related activities. Guests will also be able to participate in arts and crafts, temporary tattoos, raffles and giveaways. Entrance to the festival and films will be free.
Studio 35 Cinema and Drafthouse host a variety of community programs as well as films, both blockbuster and indie. This theater has brought film and a variety of entertainment to Columbus, Ohio since 1938 and is said to be home to several ghosts. Beer tastings, film festivals and possibly scares are all available at Studio 35.
