The Carnival, Reimagined

The Carnival, Reimagined

Stay active this fall at Gamegrounds

By Morgan Mugwira

As fall rolls in and the weather starts to cool, the options for outdoor recreation become fewer. Fortunately, Gamegrounds in Columbus, Ohio, offers 12 games in a 12,000-square-foot space to get active indoors. Guests are invited to explore this reimagined indoor carnival, no matter their age. Perfect for family, friends or other group outings, Gamegrounds provides high-tech, immersive, room-scale games.

Guests can play games that challenge their minds and bodies to win fun prizes and rise among the ranks of the gamegrounds leaderboard. Each game is designed for groups of two to six players. Groups are given 75 minutes to play as many games as they please. Gamegrounds allows players of all ages, but also offers adult gaming hours (21+) after 9 p.m.

Opening back in February, Gamegrounds was designed by a group of artists to be a reimagined virtual indoor playground. As such, the carnival fun doesn’t stop at the games. Grab some hot butter popcorn or a light, sweet cloud of cotton candy. Everything, from the games and challenges to the food and drinks, is carnival themed.
